Terry's Chocolate Orange Brownies

Updated: Dec 19, 2020

I love brownies and I love Terry's Chocolate Orange so why not make Terry's Chocolate Orange Brownies! A simple idea and then a recipe was born. This recipe is so easy and rewarding. Tasty chocolate orange base complete with chocolate orange chunks and a chocolate orange segment on top to finish. This brownie is a seriously chocolatey winner. Perfect for the festive season!

Skip to the end for the recipe

I made these brownies by altering a Sally's Baking Addiction Recipe and replacing the chocolate with chocolate orange. It was pretty simple with only a handful of ingredients; butter, chocolate, sugar, eggs, flour, cocoa powder and salt.

Recipe Components

Shiny top: To get that shiny cracked top that you see on tasty brownies, it is important to melt the butter and chopped chocolate orange together over heat until they are nicely mixed. Once combined add the sugar and mix until they smooth.

Chocolate orange: The chocolate will be used in three parts of this recipe. The chocolate will be melted with the butter but some of the chopped chocolate will be used in the batter so that the brownie is filled with chocolate orange chunks. The remaining chocolate will be used as segments on the top. Buy 2 Terry’s Chocolate Orange balls!

Flour and cocoa powder: To create that lovely fudgey brownie texture that we all love this recipe only uses a little bit of flour and cocoa powder. If you add too much then you will get a more cakey brownie and no one likes that.

Salt: To balance to the sweet flavour.

Overall, this will be a really thick brownie. Pour it into your large baking paper lined 9 x 13 inch baking tin. Spread it evenly and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake at 177 °C for around 35 minutes.

Once there is 5 mins left in the bake time, place the frozen Terry Chocolate orange slices on top and put the brownies in for another 5 mins.

Patience is a virtue to get the perfect brownies. They will smell amazing and although you will be tempted wait until they are completely cool before removing them from the tin and slicing. I cut these into 24 because I wanted smaller brownies but if you want larger brownies slice them into 16 and you will be very happy.
